Project Description

My client wanted to add curb appeal and a bit of privacy from the busy street and pedestrians, on a tight budget.  I used strict symmetry to draw the focus on the front door, and created a garden separation from the pedestrian sidewalk, which helps to delineate private and public space in a soft transition, versus using an imposing structure like a fence or hedge. Tall cedars and japanese tree lilacs will draw the eye up to the height of the house as they grow, while at the same time creating a connection to human scale. Every plant and tree was carefully chosen for it’s impact, to enforce the overall design concept with fewer plantings, this helps keep the landscape on budget. The overall look is cozy and private, yet welcoming. design proposal
