Project Description

My clients wanted to finally finish their basement because they were quickly running out of room for the kids and themselves on the main floor. They wanted a space that the kids could go and run around, play with their toys while allowing for their own adult space- toy free- upstairs.

The architectural necessities  for the space included:

-one bathroom

-one bedroom

-storage!

-laundry room

-living room

-entertaining area

and then to top it all off a large play area for the kids. Their needs along with the original ‘interesting’ plumbing and hvac placements created quite the design dilemma, which is why I was hired to create a functional floor plan, furniture plan and lighting layout to make sure the space would work out the way they wanted it to, along with some little extras that will take the space from not only ‘finished’ but beautiful as well.

The end result is a floor plan that functions perfectly for their family including everything they needed… and some fantastic extras that will make the basement feel like an extension of the main floor.
